The Clothes Closet

The Clothes Closet at The Shore

Some 35+ years ago, The Clothes Closet began as a simple closet containing clothes for families who were victims of house fires. It was a dream and a vision that developed into today’s largest community mission outreach for “The Shore.”

Today, we still adhere to our original vision of supporting any fire victims whenever they need help. Yet we have grown to provide even more than we dream of offering more than just clothes. We now offer furniture, housewares, toys, and books. We support numerous local charities through our “CC Volunteers Charities Program.” And we recycle what we cannot use.

We have a mission department to help those who need it at no charge to them. Over the past three years, this mission department has helped an average of 123 families and thirteen organizations each month with donations and gifts of clothes and materials worth an average of 13,167 at no cost to them.

We donate seventy-five cents of every dollar of profit each month to local charities such as local food banks and children’s organizations through our Volunteer Charities Program. These funds are available because of the donations we receive and the arduous work of our volunteers, who keep costs low and enable us to provide for the community.
